The Initiative Foundation partners with more than 900 individuals and businesses to strengthen the communities of central Minnesota. We believe that we all share a responsibility to give back to the causes that have helped or inspired us in our lifetimes. Neither the amount nor the recipient of a gift matters. Community endeavors often depend upon local generosity, and we encourage gifts of time, talent and resources to all charitable organizations.
Our highest priority is to help you discover, achieve and feel great about changing lives in your hometown, and to do it in a way that maximizes your personal and financial rewards. There are several reasons why a gift to the Initiative Foundation may be a good choice for you.

Impact Every hometown in central Minnesota benefits from the Initiative Foundation. A single gift may help to revitalize a rural downtown, preserve a lake or river, create a good-paying job and prepare a young child for kindergarten, among countless other results.
Match Through a unique partnership with The McKnight Foundation, most Initiative Foundation gifts are matched dollar-for-dollar, immediately doubling the power of your gift.
Knowledge There are many different ways to give to charities that can earn donors significant tax advantages and financial benefits. We have a strong knowledge of these vehicles and will work with you and your advisor to choose the best giving strategy.
Trust The Initiative Foundation is an established, efficient and results-driven organization. We form long-term friendships with our donors, not their pocketbooks. Our highest priority is to get to know you and understand the difference you wish to make with your gift.
Recognition We value each gift for the special reasons it was given and for the trust our donors place in the foundation. We work hard to remember our donors in publications, events and personal visits, and we also respect the privacy of those who wish to remain anonymous.
