Community Climate Leaders

Community Climate Leaders is an six-week hybrid program for local residents who want practical knowledge and hands-on support to lead climate action in their communities. Learn about the changing climate, what it means for Minnesota, and what you can do to build resiliency in your community.

The course is primarily virtual, with the first session scheduled for Sept. 14, followed by three additional virtual sessions on Sept. 21, Oct. 6 and Oct. 13. The final in-person day-long session is 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Oct. 30 at Happy Dancing Turtle in Pine River. A meal will be provided, scholarships are available, and projects and resources will support participants after the course.

The Initiative Foundation is proud to host this training series in partnership with Happy Dancing Turtle and the Climate Adaptation Partnership through the University of Minnesota.

The application deadline is Sept. 8.
