18 Organizations Receive Joy & Connection Grants

The Initiative Foundation has awarded $85,200 in Joy & Connection grants to 18 organizations across Central Minnesota. The grants will support community-led projects designed to bring people together and create opportunities for belonging, healing and shared purpose.

“Strong communities are built on meaningful connections,” said Amy Trombley, Initiative Foundation vice president for community. “These grants support local organizations that are creating welcoming spaces where people can gather, build relationships and experience the joy that comes from being part of a community.”

This year’s projects range from intergenerational events and arts programming to wellness gatherings, family support initiatives and community celebrations. Together, they reflect the many ways local organizations are fostering inclusion, reducing isolation and creating opportunities for neighbors to connect.

The 2026 Joy & Connection grant round marks the Initiative Foundation’s third year of investing in community-led ideas that help people build relationships, bridge differences and reduce isolation.
