Carl Newbanks

As vice president of philanthropy, Carl is deeply involved in building donor relationships through one-on-one connections, fundraising appeals and by entertaining questions about complex gift-giving opportunities that support and grow Central Minnesota.

“Supporting communities, nonprofits and local small business owners generates a tangible impact that I can see in local communities,” said Carl, who joined the Foundation in 2018. Carl also oversees grantwriting initiatives to attract state, federal and foundation resources for the region.

Carl grew up in Arizona but loves Minnesota’s four seasons—including winter. He and his family make their home in Sauk Rapids and enjoy their Midwest get-aways. And during the winter months, you can find Carl cruising the slopes at Powder Ridge in Kimball where he’s a volunteer member of the local Ski Patrol.
