About the Impact Fund
The Initiative Foundation, a certified Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI) since 1997, launched the Impact Fund in 2023 to enhance its lending and support services. As one of the only CDFIs located in and serving Central Minnesota small businesses, the Initiative Foundation helps owners and entrepreneurs who face barriers to traditional financing.

Persevere Dance, Waverly
Dancer-entrepreneur Kasey Dumonceaux, with support from the Initiative Foundation’s Impact Fund, transformed perseverance into progress — securing a new studio space, renovating it herself, and launching Persevere Dance to inspire confidence and creativity.
Viva Bar, Long Prairie
Gabrier Perez and Miozoti Nieves renovated a century-old Long Prairie building and launched Viva Bar & Restaurant, using a state revitalization grant plus an Initiative Foundation Impact Fund loan to fund the bar and restaurant upgrades and renovate six apartments.
