New Cass Lake-Bena Education Foundation Supports Students

The Cass Lake-Bena Education Foundation has launched to support students and educators across Cass Lake-Bena schools. Established as a Partner Fund of the Initiative Foundation, the foundation will provide local support for classroom needs and learning experiences beyond traditional school funding.

The foundation provides community members, alumni and supporters a way to invest directly in Cass Lake-Bena students. Funds raised can support classroom grants, cultural programming and other opportunities identified by educators and school leaders.

“This foundation keeps decision-making close to home,” said Amy Gray, community philanthropy manager at the Initiative Foundation. “It allows local supporters to respond to real needs in Cass Lake-Bena classrooms and help create meaningful learning opportunities for students.”

The Cass Lake-Bena Education Foundation reflects the community’s strong commitment to education and student success, providing lasting support for local schools and future generations.

“Our teachers are amazing. They have so many creative ideas for classroom innovation,” said Sue Chase, Cass Lake-Bena superintendent. “I’ve heard proposals for setting up student-run businesses, outdoor classrooms, flexible seating, and so many more. This fund will allow Cass Lake-Bena Schools to support those dreams that will bring learning to life for our students.”
