Foundation Welcomes Mboutchom in Community Role

The Initiative Foundation is pleased to announce that Elizabeth Mboutchom has joined the team as clean energy and community resiliency program officer.

Mboutchom will lead the Foundation’s clean energy work and will support programming, grants coordination, and the advancement of economic opportunities in collaboration with local units of government, nonprofits and state partners.

Mboutchom is from St. Cloud and gained foundational experience during her time in the Peace Corps in Madagascar. She has a master’s degree in environmental management and sustainability from the University of South Australia. Mboutchom has extensive experience in community engagement and will use those skills to work with Central Minnesota leaders to understand their needs and identify resources to help.

“I am excited to work with amazing people who are dedicated to creating lasting, positive change,” she said. “I love the strong sense of community in Greater Minnesota, where people are kind, supportive and willing to work together.” In her free time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends and traveling.

“Elizabeth brings strong experience to the community development team at the Initiative Foundation,” says Don Hickman, outgoing vice president for community and workforce development. “I look forward to seeing her use her career experience to benefit the Foundation’s work in clean energy, disaster preparedness and community development.”
