Foundation Awards $740,000 in OBT Grants to 17 Nonprofits
The Initiative Foundation has awarded 17 grants totaling $740,000 through the Otto Bremer Trust’s Community Responsive Fund, supporting Central Minnesota nonprofits that are improving lives and strengthening communities.
Led by the Otto Bremer Trust, the Community Responsive Fund distributed $3 million to 64 organizations in Greater Minnesota in partnership with the Minnesota Initiative Foundations. The Initiative Foundation helped administer the funding across Greater Minnesota to ensure resources reached local organizations that understand their community’s most pressing needs.
Across the state, funded projects reflected the Otto Bremer Trust’s commitment to addressing critical community priorities: advancing literacy; supporting adoption and foster care services; promoting children’s health and disability services; expanding access to mental health care—especially for children ages 5 to 15; and investing in capital projects that strengthen hospitals and clinics. Together, these grants will help more children, families and communities thrive throughout Greater Minnesota.
From youth mental health and literacy programs in St. Cloud to emergency medical upgrades in Long Prairie and Staples, to culturally responsive health and legal services in Brainerd and on the Leech Lake Reservation, these grants will help Central Minnesota organizations expand their reach, strengthen families and improve the well-being of children and communities across the region.
