Community Foundation Launches to Support Buffalo-Area Needs

The Buffalo Area Community Foundation, a Partner Fund of the Initiative Foundation, has launched to support schools, local governments and nonprofit organizations serving the Buffalo area.

The community foundation will focus on funding local programs and services that help residents meet today’s needs and build for the future. Its structure allows the fund to grow over time and adapt as community priorities change.

“I am excited to have an avenue that will allow for community leaders and community members to be a part of making Buffalo even better as a place to live and grow,” said Sue Olmscheid, Buffalo Area Community Foundation advisory team member.

As a Partner Fund of the Initiative Foundation, the Buffalo Area Community Foundation benefits from professional fund management, nonprofit expertise and the strength of a regional network dedicated to building thriving communities across Central Minnesota.

“This fund is about supporting the people who call the Buffalo area home—students, families and neighbors working to make their community stronger,” said Amy Gray, community philanthropy manager at the Initiative Foundation. “Powered by generous local donors, it will help meet real needs and support the programs and places that matter most to residents.”
