Trombley Named Vice President for Community
The Initiative Foundation is pleased to announce Amy Trombley as its new vice president for community. Trombley brings a wealth of experience in community development, education, and collaborative impact to her new role.
“I’m especially excited about the role because of the Initiative Foundation’s strong commitment to creating lasting, positive impact in our community,” Trombley said. “The Foundation’s work spans so many areas—economic development, supporting nonprofits, advancing community initiatives—and I’m eager to be part of this mission. The breadth and depth of the region we serve make it an exciting opportunity, and I look forward to collaborating with local leaders and organizations to continue to create brighter futures together.”
Trombley most recently served as vice president of education at United Way of Central Minnesota, where she distinguished herself as a passionate advocate for community-driven solutions.
“Amy’s track record of building strong partnerships and supporting communities with critical funding and resources make her an exceptional addition to our leadership team,” said Brian Voerding, president of the Initiative Foundation. “Her vision and commitment to community align perfectly with our mission.”
Born and raised in St. Cloud, Trombley graduated from Technical High School and St. Cloud State University. She makes her home with her family in Sartell.
“The Initiative Foundation’s vision of fostering economic growth, supporting community organizations, and creating opportunities for all is a mission that deeply resonates with me,” she said. “I’m excited to contribute my experience and expertise to help further those goals. I am truly fortunate to love the work that I get to do every day and that I can leverage my skills and talents to make Central Minnesota an even greater place to live, work and play.”
Trombley succeeds Don Hickman, who retired at the end of January after 25 years with the Initiative Foundation. During that time, he earned a well-deserved reputation at the local, state and national levels as a creative thinker and problem-solver. Hickman will remain with the Initiative Foundation in a part-time capacity, focused on workforce, clean energy and special projects.
